Wadokai England Squad Selection Process

WKE Squad Selection Process.

  1. Each student must have a current up to date licence, and be a member of an association that is affiliated to Wado-Kai England Karate-Do Federation.
  2. The selection process will be based on attendance and performance.
  3. Each person must attend a minimum of six training sessions (three sessions for the year 2007) throughout the year, to be considered for selection for the European Championships. This includes closed training sessions i.e. 'elite squad only training sessions'.
  4. Training sessions missed through illness may be taken into consideration at the discretion of the relevant squad coach.
  5. Selection will NOT be automatic upon having attended the appropriate training sessions.
  6. Teams will be chosen from Wado-Kai students in the same process as above, when an individual has been selected this does not give them automatic entry to a team.
  7. Any dissent from students or parents to any coach or senior official will not be tolerated.
  8. All coaches will act in a professional manner at all times.

Selection Process Addendum.

  1. The Selection Process will include a performance review for all students.
  2. This will involve the keeping of Performance Records. These records will be reflective upon performance at Squad Training and in Competition.
  3. An elite squad will be selected based upon performance at squad training sessions and performance at competitions.
  4. All elite squad members will be expected to make themselves available for additional training sessions as directed by the squad coach.
